The oppositions circumstances from 1995 through 2050 were computed by Brian D. Warner.

Each line gives
  • Asteroid number
  • For the five brightest apparitions in the period 1995-2050
  • Opposition magnitude (V)
  • Opposition date (mm/dd.d)
  • Brightest magnitude (V)
  • Brightest date (mm/dd.d)
  • Approximate declination at brightest
  • Year (YYYY)

  • Each year's data are separated by the pile symbol ( | ).
A sample line is shown below.

      #    O.M.   O.D.    B.M.   B.D.   DEC   YEAR    O.M.   O.D.   B.M.   B.D.    DEC  YEAR
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
       1   6.7  12 18.2   6.7  12 18.3  +25   2012 |  6.7  12 17.0   6.7  12 17.1  +25  2035 |

If an asterisk appears next to a given year, e.g., 2022*, that means that apparition is particularly favorable.
This is defined to be when the range of brightest to faintest apparition is > 1.0 mag and the brightest
in given year is 0.7 mag or more brighter than (brightest + faintest) / 2 - the average apparition.

Each line is 225 characters long (not including the CR/LF pair)
